This is a private reference, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, retrieve a record, provide a booking photo, accept a tip, change a case, or contact a detainee.
Choose the Record Holder
Use the office that created or now holds the record. Union County and Jackson County have separate roles because Jackson County Jail is the documented contracted detention destination.
- Union County Sheriff's Office: incident records and sheriff matters, phone 618-833-5500, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The verified courthouse records address is 309 W. Market Street, Room 004, Jonesboro, IL 62952. The current sheriff page prints a conflicting, incomplete street line, so confirm the physical or mailing address by phone.
- Union County FOIA officer: written county requests, 309 W. Market Street, Room 239, Jonesboro, IL 62952; 618-833-8248; foia@unioncountyil.gov. The county page links its current form.
- Jackson County Sheriff FOIA officer: the physical jail intake file and booking photograph, if held and releasable. Lt. Shauna Taylor is listed at 1001 Mulberry Street, Murphysboro, IL 62966. The jail phone is 618-687-2292, and the sheriff's office phone is 618-687-3822. Use the live Jackson County Sheriff FOIA page for its current email route.
- City police or clerk: Anna, Jonesboro, or Cobden holds its own incident and citation records even when detention later occurs at Jackson County Jail.
- Union County Circuit Clerk: court dockets and dispositions, 309 W. Market Street, Room 108, Jonesboro, IL 62952; 618-833-5913.
- IDOC, BOP, or ICE: use the matching official locator only when the person entered Illinois prison, federal, or immigration custody.
A focused request should name the person, approximate arrest date, arresting agency, and case, incident, or booking number if known. Ask for the public record and photograph only if it exists. Charges at booking are accusations, not convictions.
